NATE TURNS 4!!!

Wow! What a big boy! We had a great time today on Nate's 4th birthday. We played in the morning, then went to Sport Bounce for a party with family and friends, and spent the rest of the afternoon opening up and playing with the hoards of presents that Nate got. I would write more, but I feel as tired as the birthday boy himself. Thanks to everyone who came to share in the joy today!

Look at me!

The other night, Anna, Nate, and I were playing in the basement. She was having a blast scooting around and was so pleased with her efforts that she started spontaneously clapping each time she got a new toy. Nate and I were in hysterics. My friend Kim just had a beautiful baby girl named Ella and it made me think back on those precious (and very difficult) days when my baby girl was so little. Now she is 8 months old! Sigh. If she could talk, this is what she would say....

"The ball is almost in my grasp!"

"I got it! Yeah me!!!!"

"Now I'll scoot on over and stand up for a bit...."

The second is MUCH different from the first

When Nate was little, I was always looking forward... to the time when he first rolled over, started crawling, and finally learned how to walk. I couldn't wait until he accomplished each of those tasks. With Anna, it is completely the opposite. I am almost sad that she is a few weeks away from crawling, and not just because her mobility makes our lives decidingly more difficult. She is growing up so quickly! It may be that she is most likely my last baby. Or maybe its because I realize just how quickly time goes by. Anyway, here are some new photos of her. Look at her bottom 2 teeth!

Ouchie ouchie ouchie

I recently joined a gym in an effort to get fit, lose the marriage and baby weight, and two days ago took advantage of a free personal training session(you get 2 freebies with a membership). I only worked out with him for about 30 minutes, but boy, am I out of shape! My legs hurt, my belly hurts, my arms ache. I can barely walk up and down stairs! The best thing about the gym where we are at is that they have childcare and even have kid fitness classes, kid yoga, & kid crafts class.

Uncle Louie comes a visiting!

Uncle Louie, my dad's brother, is in town for a crew match. Some of you may remember him as the crazy Bonzai guy from our wedding. :) Marc and I took the kids into Alexandria and walked around downtown visiting with him, Mom, PT and Mary. Anna wasn't too crazy about being in her stroller towards the end of the visit. It was great seeing him. I still have so many great memories of him growing him... he's the one who taught us the my friend the witch doctor song, took us on the sidecar of his motorcycle, etc. I love my Uncle Lou! And PT looks exactly like him too.

The United States of...

At dinner tonight, Nate was telling us that they are learning about countries at school today. I asked if he knew what country we lived in. He thought for a little bit so I started to prompt him - The United States of....... His response? India! V. funny.
