Now that Anna is 10 weeks old and is somewhat able to hold her head up straight, Nate loves holding her! I kept asking Nate to smile and he did his usual... a gigantic smile stretching from cheek to cheek with his eyes tightly squeezed closed. I can't tell you how many photos we have of Nate with that same look! It cracks me up every time.

Nate slays the terrible Daddy
Once upon a time in a deep dark forest there lived a good knight. His name was Sir Nate. One day, a mean, terrible Daddy came into the forest and scared all the animals. Sir Nate knew what he had to do. He put on his armor and rode off to fight the Daddy. A tiring battle ensued. With several sweeps of his sword, the brave Sir Nate vanquished the terrible Daddy. Our hero!

More Anna photos
Here some are, as requested by Lizzie! These were taken about a month ago. I started to snap pictures because I wanted to remember how small Anna was in comparison to Nate, but he wouldn't cooperate so it turned into an Anna photo session while he played animals. I need to take some new photos of this little girl since they change so much at this age!

Looking foward to a Wiggles-Free Year

Nate gets to watch half an hour of tv before books, stories, and bed each night. It is part of his normal bedtime routine. Tonight I asked him what he wanted to watch. He said no to Franklin, Dora, Diego, Backyardigans, 64 Zoo Lane... all his typical favorites. Then I asked him if he wanted to watch the Wiggles. He looked at me almost scoffingly and said no, the Wiggles were boring! Poor Nate. He'll have to endure them (along with us) once again when Anna is old enough to demand them. Big Grandpa can come over and watch the Wiggles with her - he's sort of fond of them! But in the meantime, we'll enjoy a Wiggle-free year!

In case you were wondering...
The most amazing thing happened on Sunday morning...
Anna Grace slept until about 7:30, so after I nursed her, I felt well-rested enough to go downstairs. It was a very (unusually) quiet Sunday morning in the Milin household, so I figured that Nate and Marc went out to breakfast. I went downstairs, made a pot of coffee, and started to watch one of my guilty pleasures on tv. The kind of show that I don't want to advertise watching. About halfway through, I hear some footsteps upstairs and Marc appears on the stairs. For the first time since Nate was born, Marc and I were awake before the children! It felt like we won the lottery or something, and I was positively giddy. Unfortunately, Nate woke up about 20 minutes later. But what a way to begin a Sunday!

Toddlers are SO gross.
After lunch today, I got out dessert for Nate and myself. It was vanilla yogurt and I had made a special strawberry topping for it. I asked Nate if he wanted some strawberries for his yogurt. He absolutely refused and even said that it was yucky. And then he proceeded to scoop up some ketchup (leftover from his chicken) and mix THAT in with his yogurt. Toddlers are SO gross.

Guess the baby!

These are all the babies in the family. At least those born after we got our digital camera! Guess who is who... and don't feel bad if you have no clue. I did try to find some gender neutral pictures, but I think that their clothing will give them away. At the end of the day, babies look like babies!
Visit with Aunt Nicole and Cousin Quinn
Marc's sister and niece, Nicole and Quinn, came to visit us last week. We had a wonderful couple of days with them, and Nate had a blast playing with his 8-year old cousin. He also esp. enjoyed not having to go to daycare for a couple of days! Here are some pics from their visit. Sometimes love (from Nate) hurts.
It is official...
Once again, Anna has proven that she is, indeed, the very best baby in the whole wide world. Although she is not yet even 8 weeks old, she is a magnificent sleeper and last night (quick, knock on wood that it isn't a first and only occurence), she slept through the night. And I am not talking about sleeping from 11 pm to 5 am. Anna fell asleep at 8 pm and woke up at an astonishing 6 am. Way to go, little girl! Her big brother was not sleeping thru the night like that until he was about a year and a half. I swear I am the most well-rested mom of a new baby.
Introduction
Hello everyone! I am so sorry that we haven't been updating our website, so I am going to try this format out in the hopes that it will be much easier to use and therefore I will actually post messages to it frequently. If I don't, then please bug me about it!
